Getting to Bordeaux

Option 01

Fly Into Bordeaux

Flights from Seattle or Los Angeles usually require one international connection, most commonly through major European hubs such as Paris, Amsterdam, London, or Rome. Bordeaux Airport (BOD) is only 25 minutes from the city center.

Option 02

Train from Paris

Arrive at Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and take the high speed train from Paris to Bordeaux. The train takes around 2hrs and is comfortable with WiFi. We strongly recommend booking train tickets in advance through Ouigo or Trainline.

Where to Stay

We recommend staying in central Bordeaux, especially near Place de la Comedie or the Opera House, which will serve as the shuttle pickup point for all wedding events for added convenience.

Wine Regions

Bordeaux has been at the heart of the wine world for centuries. Surrounded by historic vineyards, grand châteaux, and rolling countryside, the region is known for producing some of the world’s most celebrated wines. Whether you’re a dedicated wine lover or simply curious to explore, we hope you enjoy discovering this beautiful and historic corner of France.

Saint Emillion, Medoc and Pessac-Léognan are some of our favorites that are easily accessible from the city.

Saint Emillion

Known for its charming medieval village and rolling vineyard landscapes, Saint-Émilion is one of Bordeaux’s most picturesque wine regions. The area is especially famous for elegant, Merlot-based red wines that are smooth, rich, and approachable.

Medoc

Located north of Bordeaux along the Left Bank, the Médoc is home to many of the region’s most famous châteaux and historic wine estates. The wines here are typically Cabernet Sauvignon-driven reds, known for their structure, depth, and ability to age beautifully.

Pessac-Léognan

Just outside the city of Bordeaux, Pessac-Léognan is one of the region’s oldest wine-producing areas and is known for producing both exceptional red and white wines. The reds are refined and balanced, while the whites are fresh, aromatic, and often oak-aged.

Wine Tours

Booking a wine tour is the best way to experience Bordeaux wine. Hop from chateau to chateau to taste wine and learn about what makes each producer unique.
